THEORY: Skrelp is a Tentacool Pre-Evolution!

This is just a theory and it has some flaws such as Skrelp being a seahorse and Tentacool being a jellyfish. Don't let logic get in the way of a good story because remember Game Freak thought a fish evolving into and octopus was logical!

Seriously?

For starters there is the typing, both Skrelp and Tentacool are both Poison/Water types. Not that it isn't a common type combination though. But then there is exhibit B, compare the shape of Skrelp's head and Tentacruel's head.

Also, Skrelp's eye is red which isn't really a common eye colour for a Pokemon, but it does remind me of the orbs on Tentacool and Tentacruel. Sure it may be wishful thinking, but here's hoping!
